Ralf Rangnick

Ralf Rangnick apologizes to Manchester United supporters after the defeat to Brighton.

During his interview with Sky Sports after the match, Rangnick said: “We were second best. We can only apologize to the supporters. It was a terrible performance and a humiliating defeat.”

The match at Amex Stadium ended with Brighton thrashing Manchester United in the home stadium. Manchester United will be finishing the season with their worst points total since the Premier League era.

Sky Sports asked Ragnick if this match was the worst of his tenure and he said:

“Yes, it was from the first to the last minute.

“We were second best. We can only apologize to the supporters. It was a terrible performance and a humiliating defeat.

“We gave them too much time, too much space. We couldn’t get into a position to stop them from playing through our lines. The game plan was completely different. We told the players to be as compact as possible and then to release pressure on them. We couldn’t stop them.
