Olawale Oluwo to Scrap Tinubu’s Alpha Beta

Olawale Oluwo

Olawale Oluwo, former Lagos Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Ambode Campaign Organization (AMCO) has promised that the group will facilitate the transition to scrap tax consultancy Alpha Beta. According to Lagos State Resources, Oluwa revealed this in an interview with the This Day newspaper, published Tuesday, May 3.

When asked why he resigned at the time, he explained that it was a protest on his part because he did not like his boss being denied a second term by the APC Governor’s Advisory Board (GAC).

In an interview, he said:

“I don’t like it when people play god with the transient power that ordinarily belongs to God and the people.”

Oluwo said he submitted two letters when he resigned from his position as commissioner. One detailed his resignation from his position and the other detailed his resignation from the ruling APC party.
When asked about the role of the Governor’s Advisory Board (GAC) in selecting candidates, which is unknown to the APC Constitution, Oluwa said that GAC has no constitutional right to nominate candidates. He added that the existence of GAC as the supreme institution tasked with anointing state candidates is alien to the party’s constitution. Oluwo also said that the candidates born of GAC’s choices were not party candidates.

He said:

“I want Lagosians to know that the incumbent Governor that has been endorsed by the GAC is the candidate of the GAC and not the candidate of the party. “The AMCO Group will announce its own candidate and the candidate of the two groups will contest the governorship primary election in Lagos State.”
